Madeleine Bedding
A concrete product with a clear subject and real-world context. This item stays close to the site's topic and gives the reader a specific reason to open the page.
This page frames a concrete subject instead of using a generic heading. It explains what is being considered, why it matters in the site's context, and what detail a reader can expect next. The copy is intentionally plain and specific, so it reads like a real content item.
For anyone setting up a guest room or a small boutique hotel, the Starter Service Kit covers the essentials without overcomplicating the order. It is built around the fabrics we already cut and sew at the Johannesburg studio, so the pieces match in tone and finish rather than feeling like a random assortment.
The kit is assembled from our standard bedding pieces, so you can add or swap items depending on the room size and the season.
Every piece is cut and sewn in small batches, which keeps the quality consistent and lets us adjust the colour family to your room.
Not sure which weave suits your climate? Read our thread-count guide first.
Founder and head of the sewing room
Marlene started Madeleine Bedding in Johannesburg after years of making curtains and cushion covers for friends. What began as a single sewing machine in a spare room is now a small workshop that cuts and sews every batch of percale, linen and sateen bedding in-house.
She still checks every fabric order before it goes to the cutting table and signs off on the first sample of each new colourway. Her rule is simple: if a seam or a hem would not hold up to hotel laundry, it does not leave the studio.
A practical starting point for guesthouses and small hotels that want consistent, well-made bed linen without ordering a full custom range.
A curated set of fitted sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases in a single weave and colour family, sized to your mattress depths and pillow dimensions. Each piece is cut from the same fabric batch so the whole set matches.
Mixed bedding from different suppliers rarely matches in shade or feel after a few washes. A starter kit gives your rooms a uniform look from day one and makes restocking simpler later.
We start with a short conversation about your room counts, mattress sizes and preferred weave. From there we send fabric swatches and a cutting plan before production begins at the Johannesburg studio.
