Straight answers about our bedding

A few things customers often ask before ordering percale sheets, linen duvet covers or deep-pocket fitted sheets. If your question isn't here, our studio team replies within one working day.

What does “deep pocket” actually fit?

Our fitted sheets are cut for mattresses up to 40 cm deep, which covers most pillow-top and extra-thick models sold in South Africa. The elasticated hem runs all the way around, so the sheet stays tucked even if you move around at night. If your mattress is thicker than 40 cm, measure it before ordering and we'll advise on the best option.

How do percale and sateen feel different?

Percale has a crisp, matte finish and breathes well, which makes it a good match for warm climates or anyone who sleeps hot. Sateen is smoother and has a subtle sheen, with a slightly heavier drape. Both are made from long-staple cotton, but the weave changes the hand feel. If you prefer a cool, fresh bed in summer, percale is usually the safer choice.

Are your linen blends really breathable?

Yes. Our linen duvet covers use a blend of 55% linen and 45% cotton. The linen gives that open, airy structure, while the cotton adds softness and makes the fabric easier to care for. Linen does wrinkle naturally, and that's part of its character. After a few washes it becomes noticeably softer without losing its breathability.

What size pillowcases do you offer?

We stock standard (50 x 75 cm) and queen (50 x 90 cm) pillowcases in the same fabric and colour family as our sheet sets. Queen sizes suit larger European pillows and are also a good option if you prefer a longer pillowcase with extra fabric to tuck under. Each pillowcase has an envelope closure, so no exposed edges.

How should I wash my new sheets?

Wash before first use in cold or warm water (max 40°C) on a gentle cycle. Avoid bleach and fabric softener, as they coat the fibres and reduce absorbency. Tumble dry on low or line dry in the shade. Percale and sateen both come out of the dryer with fewer wrinkles if you remove them while slightly damp. Linen can be tumble dried on low, but it will soften faster if you take it out before it's fully dry.

Do you supply guesthouses and hotels?

Yes. Wholesale orders for guesthouses and boutique hotels are handled separately from the direct-to-consumer range. We work with you on sizing, colour consistency and bulk pricing. Bulk orders are cut and sewn in the same Johannesburg studio, so quality control stays consistent across every batch. Send us your requirements and we'll come back with a tailored quote.
